• The active ingredient is Dichlobenil which is reasonably safe to humans and animals and is non-harmful to bacterial growth that is essential in water treatment plants & septic systems. Dichlobenil is an environmentally friendly active ingredient. Part of that is because Dichlobenil is highly susceptible to microbial decay in sewer treatment plants.
• This foam has a relatively high concentration of Dichlobenil. Dichlobenil serves to stop cell division in plants which kills roots and stops growth wherever it is present. It is a non-systemic killer (it is not absorbed into the plant's system) so it does not harm the tree. Dichlobenil is a vapor killer. So wherever the vapor is present the roots will be killed and new growth will be prevented (for example, if you have a high concentration at one place in the pipe the vapor can still travel down the pipe and kill roots at another location).
